Two young women aged 18 and 19 and two young men aged 18 practicing stand-up paddleboarding were found on Tuesday morning on Swan Island, in the state of Victoria (Australia).

High winds had caused their inflatable boards to drift all night.

The four teenagers were found more than 30 kilometers from the place where they had entered the water the day before to celebrate the end of the school year, says

Lost, tired and cold

The fact of having been spotted constitutes a "miracle", estimated one of the young Australians, questioned from the hospital where he was taken.

The group was particularly marked by the night spent drifting without knowing where it was going to end up.

Lost, tired and cold, the teenagers tried in vain to attract the attention of rescue boats and helicopters looking for them.

Noting that they could not fight against the force of the wind, stand-up paddle enthusiasts decided to let themselves be carried away.

They finally arrived on the island around 2 a.m. on Tuesday and took shelter in a cabin.

Once daylight broke, they explored the area and came across security officers.

The young men had been missing since the previous evening after their belongings were found on a beach.
