　　Xi Jinping pointed out that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Germany, and it is a year of great significance in China-Germany relations.

Thanks to the joint efforts of several generations of Chinese and German leaders, China-Germany relations have generally maintained a positive direction, and the two countries have become all-round strategic partners.

The development of China-Germany relations has a solid foundation of public opinion, extensive common interests and rich successful experience.

As long as both sides adhere to mutual respect, mutual benefit and win-win results, China-Germany relations will surely go forward, steadily and go far.

The Chinese side is willing to work together with the German side to push China-Germany relations to a new level and usher in a successful 50 years of China-Germany relations.

　　Xi Jinping put forward three opinions on the development of China-Germany relations in the next stage:

　　First of all, both parties should adhere to the correct basic understanding.

China and Germany have always been partners in dialogue, development, cooperation and coping with global challenges.

The two sides should continue to build and expand consensus through dialogue, manage and control differences with a constructive attitude, and continue to enrich the connotation of partnership.

　　Second, China-Germany cooperation is pragmatic and open, which is the most important feature that should be adhered to in bilateral relations.

In the past 50 years, the trade volume between China and Germany has increased by 870 times.

The two sides should cherish the hard-won results of cooperation, strengthen complementary advantages in market, capital, and technology, expand cooperation in traditional fields such as automobiles, machinery, and chemicals, and tap the potential for cooperation in areas such as service trade, intelligent manufacturing, and digitalization.

China treats German companies investing in China equally, and hopes that Germany will provide a fair, transparent and non-discriminatory business environment for Chinese companies investing in Germany.

　　Third, lead the healthy and stable development of China-EU relations. This is the direction that China and Germany should work together.

China supports the EU's strategic autonomy, and hopes that the EU will adhere to the basic positioning of China and the EU as strategic partners, adhere to mutual respect, mutual tolerance, pragmatic cooperation, mutual benefit and win-win results, and insist that China-EU relations are not targeted, dependent, or controlled by a third party.

It is hoped that Germany will continue to play an active role and work with China to promote the stability and long-term development of China-EU relations.

　　Xi Jinping emphasized that China is willing to carry out more extensive and in-depth cooperation with Germany in dealing with global challenges such as sluggish economic recovery in the post-epidemic period, climate change, food crisis, and energy crisis.

　　Steinmeier said that he was very happy to have a phone conversation with President Xi Jinping near the end of the year. I still have a vivid memory of my visit to China four years ago.

The international situation has experienced extraordinary changes this year, and it coincides with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Germany and China.

Over the past 50 years, Germany-China relations have become increasingly close, with rich and extensive connotations and extensions, and fruitful cooperation results have brought benefits to the two peoples.

Germany firmly adheres to the one-China policy.

The German side is willing to work with the Chinese side to seriously review and summarize the past, plan for the future, and continue to promote the further development of Germany-China relations in the spirit of mutual respect, openness and inclusiveness.

I have full confidence in the bright future of Germany-China relations.

The German side is willing to strengthen exchanges and communication with the Chinese side, hold a new round of consultations between the governments of the two countries at an appropriate time, deepen practical cooperation in various fields, maintain close consultation and coordination on regional hotspot issues, and better respond to biodiversity protection, energy crises, food crises, and safeguard industries. The security and stability of chain and supply chains, and the promotion of the recovery and growth of the world economy are common challenges.

Germany appreciates China's important contribution to the success of the 15th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, and is willing to actively promote the development of EU-China relations.

　　The two sides also exchanged views on the Ukraine crisis.

Xi Jinping emphasized that China insists on persuading peace and promoting talks, and believes that protracted and complicated crises are not in the interests of all parties.

China supports the European side in demonstrating its strategic autonomy, leading the construction of a balanced, effective and sustainable European security architecture, and realizing lasting peace and long-term stability in the European continent.
