The owners of

the Albohera hotel in the Murcian town of Santiago de La Ribera

staged an unusual confrontation last Friday against a thief who entered the establishment to steal the box.

According to the security cameras, around 9:00 p.m.,

two men entered the hotel after ringing the bell

.

One of them,

hooded, entered the reception and threatened the manager, named Jesús Montesinos, into giving him the money

.

Then, the 70-year-old father tried to hit the attacker with a chair, but he turned around and ended up

threatening him with a knife in the neck

.

At that moment, Montesinos Jr. left the reception with a bar and began to beat the assailant until he managed to reduce him.

"

I was going to give him the money and let him go, but when I saw that he was going for my father I turned on myself and gave him,"

the manager told

La Verdad

.

In the video recorded by the establishment's cameras, it is observed how

several people begin to enter from the street alerted by the strong brawl

.

Finally, the robber and the man who entered with him leave the hotel.

The case was left in the hands of the Civil Guard, which according to

La Verdad

has identified the assailants, who later tried to rob another hotel.

"My father was there, and my son was there too. It was a difficult situation: there I had to act.

If I didn't do something, I saw someone's life in danger

," said Jesús Montesinos this Monday in the program

Más vale tarde

de

La Sexta

.

"The robber escaped because I thought they were going to hold him, but they didn't," he explained about the departure of the assailants.
