On Monday, Gaby Hutchinson, a security guard, died after being seriously injured in a crowd movement outside a concert hall in London on Thursday.

That evening, during the concert of Nigerian singer Asake, eight people were taken to hospital after being taken in this stampede, which occurred at the start of this concert at the O2 Academy, in the Brixton district of London.

The 23-year-old is the second person to have died as a result of this event, following the death on Saturday of 33-year-old Rebecca Ikumelo.

A second, aged 21, is still in critical condition, police said.

Investigation underway to determine the circumstances of this tragedy

Singer Asake, whose real name is Ahmed Ololade, said he was "devastated" by this first death, in a statement posted on Instagram.

"I am overwhelmed with grief and I could never have imagined that something like this could happen," added the artist.

The investigation continues "to establish precisely what happened on Thursday evening", but "we were able to establish that the two women and the man who had been seriously injured, including Rebecca Ikumelo and Gaby Hutchinson who died tragically, all three were in the lobby of the building,” police said on Monday.

On Friday, law enforcement said they were called after reports of a "large number of people trying to force entry".

According to the tabloid Daily Mirror, the concert was canceled en route, to boos from spectators, the organizers announcing on stage: "Three thousand people forced the doors outside, and for security reasons, we must put an end to the show”.
