His Highness said, in a statement on the occasion of his participation at the head of the country's delegation at the "Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership", which began its second session yesterday in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, that the approach of the United Arab Emirates is consistent in continuing to work towards achieving peace and spreading a culture of tolerance, moderation and coexistence. between peoples, renouncing violence, extremism and hatred, in addition to giving priority to the language of dialogue, reason, diplomacy and political solutions between countries, as well as focusing on the human dimension and building bridges of communication and understanding.

His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi stressed the need for Arab and regional action and coordination for a stable region and a prosperous future.

His Highness referred to the efforts of the Iraqi government in organizing the first Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership and its success, which is an important step for Iraq's return to its aspired natural role in its Arab and regional environment. In turn, King Abdullah II, in his opening speech to the second session of the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership, emphasized Iraq's pivotal role in the region, and in converging views to enhance regional cooperation, noting that the convening of the conference confirms everyone's determination to work with the Iraqi government and people for more progress. of prosperity and integration.

He considered that the conference represents an opportunity to build on the outcomes of the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership, which was held during the past year, and reaffirms the participants' support for Iraq's efforts to continue its path towards development and prosperity, and to enhance its security, stability and respect for its sovereignty.

He pointed out that the conference is taking place at a time when the region is facing security and political crises, and the challenges of food, water and health security, in addition to the need to secure energy supplies and supply chains, and deal with the repercussions of climate change.

King Abdullah stressed Jordan's belief in the region's need for stability, just and comprehensive peace, and regional cooperation, especially in the economic and development fields, and addressing issues of poverty and unemployment, indicating that facing common challenges requires collective action, the positive effects of which our peoples can see.

For his part, the Iraqi Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, said in his speech during the conference that the idea of ​​establishing the Baghdad conference stems from Iraq's desire to establish and strengthen the bases of cooperation and partnership with neighboring and friendly countries.

He added, “We are meeting today in Amman, and we hope to move towards strengthening the process of relations between our countries in various fields, and to develop their pace in a way that contributes to establishing the foundations of stability and development in the region, and opens a wide field for avenues of dialogue and discussion to exchange views and deepen concepts.”

For his part, French President Emmanuel Macron affirmed his country's commitment to supporting Iraq's security and sovereignty.

In a speech delivered during the conference, the French President said that the participating countries all seek to establish security and stability in Iraq and the region, stressing everyone's commitment to balanced relations with Iraq.
