A major fire occurred overnight from Sunday to Monday in a car scrapyard in Lannion (Côtes-d'Armor).

The fire broke out around 1:30 a.m.

Alerted, around thirty firefighters quickly went to the scene to control the flames, reports

.

The fire was finally contained around 5:30 a.m.

A total of 90 cars went up in smoke that night.

“The vehicles have been completely burnt out, they represent 10% of our storage.

In all, we have 700 to 800 cars”, explains the co-manager of the scrapyard who was warned in the middle of the night.

Fortunately, no one was there when the fire broke out.

No injuries are therefore to be deplored.

For now, the exact cause of the disaster is still unknown.

An investigation was opened and entrusted to the Lannion police station.

Investigators would not rule out the criminal trail for the moment, according to our colleagues.
