There is ice on roads and sidewalks in Malmö and Lund, among other places.

Many have fallen and are seeking hospital treatment.

In Lund, the orthopedic clinic received 25 patients on Monday afternoon and 20 in Malmö.

- The slippage is also noticeable in the emergency departments, says Jimmy Gottfridsson, press secretary at Region Skåne.

The police's call: "Stay at home"

According to the police, there is also ice on roads all over Scania and also in Blekinge.

- In the last half hour alone, we have had several accidents.

Two in Svedala, one outside Karlshamn, one on the E22 outside Lund and two accidents outside Hässleholm two hours ago, says police spokesperson Patric Fors to SVT Nyheter Skåne at 4.45pm on Monday.

The police urge everyone who does not have to go out on the roads to stay at home.

- Reduce your speed and keep your distance.

We're talking black ice.

In places it looks nice, but it can be glassy.

If you don't have to go out and drive, you should stay at home, says Patric Fors.
