When this video spread on social media, Japanese netizens shared similar experiences of damage, saying, "I was also victimized," and the man was eventually caught by the police a week later.
Violent crimes involving intentional bumping into others are common in Japan.

Earlier in 2020, a man who intentionally bumped into women at a subway station was caught and arrested.
Netizens commented, "I have to meet someone who has been convicted of a crime and be treated properly..." "I'm so ugly even if I'm not good enough! Let's punish the weak by assaulting them!"
