The US F-22

B-52 strategic bombers and F-22 stealth fighters, strategic assets of the U.S. Air Force, made a surprise sortie near the Korean Peninsula at the same time to conduct training with the ROK Air Force and the Allied Air Force.

The Ministry of National Defense said today (20th) that the deployment of the US strategic bomber B-52 near the Korean Peninsula led to the US F-22 fighter jet and South Korean F-35A and F-15K fighter jets participating in South Korea-US joint training in the southwest of Jeju.

The B-52s returned after training, but the F-22s from Kadena Air Base in Japan plan to stay at Kunsan Air Base this week to conduct additional ROK-US Air Force training.
