In the family, Elin Kolderup Finstad is not the only family member who has a diver's certificate, but among other things her father and godfather, who have been diving for 20 years, were a big inspiration for her to even start diving.

- The two of them were a big reason why I did my first test dive a year and a half ago, it was great fun and since then I've been hooked.

“Feels very cool”

Elin has already completed several different courses in diving, and has succeeded in obtaining an advanced certificate within the diving organization IANTD (International Association of Nitrox and Technical divers).

An achievement that makes her probably the youngest certified diver in the Nordics at the age of 11.

- It feels very cool that it's almost just me and that I'm so young, it can be a bit boring that there are only older people at the diving camps, but I survive.

Through her instructor Carina Forsman, who runs a diving school, Elin has been able to get her diver's certificate.

Coldest dive ever

When SVT Nyheter Väst meets Elin and her instructor Carina Forsman at the Gullmarsfjorden outside Uddevalla, the temperature gauge reads ten degrees below zero.

Despite that, Elin will complete her coldest dive ever, with the goal of looking for octopuses.

- I have never seen octopuses before so I would like to see them, I think we will manage to see them.

What's the best thing to do after a cold dive like this?

- Drink hot O'boy and eat diving buns, it's good after diving.
