A non-existent electricity bill means that other things cost money, such as light, lamp oil and petrol for the electricity generator with which the family charges mobile phones and computers.

In the summer, they use solar cells to charge the generator, but in the winter, not much power comes from the solar cells.

Sebastian tells us that it is not possible to get power from the solar cells between November and February.

- The solar cells don't work very well in the winter, there isn't much sun up here now, says Felicia.

The house is heated using wood from their forest.

Sebastian points out that it takes a lot of work to cut wood to last a whole winter.

In the winter of 2021, which was the first in the house for the family, the wood ran out in the spring.
