Organized fraud networks are constantly looking for new ways to cheat people out of money.

Now the police fear that electricity subsidy fraud is to be expected, which UNT was the first to tell about.

The government has announced that to help households and businesses cope with the coming winter, an electricity subsidy for high electricity prices will be introduced in the short term.

The plan is for the support to start being paid out in February 2023 at the earliest.

The support must be paid out via the Social Insurance Agency.

"End call immediately"

On its website, Försäkringskassan already warns of suspected fraud attempts and states that no one will be asked to log in anywhere, or give out personal codes, when paying the electricity subsidy.

"If someone contacts you in that way, it could be an attempted fraud.

Therefore end such calls immediately," writes Försäkringskassan.
