In recent weeks, Northern Sweden's reliable hydroelectric power plant has gone down in production to let the ice settle and secure the winter's electricity.

The icing is now complete - and production can be ramped up again, reports SR Ekot.

This is expected to lead to lower prices for electricity throughout the country.

- More production capacity has a dampening effect on electricity prices given that there is more production to meet the demand that exists.

There is also an opportunity to once again fully export to the south of the country, says Per Larsson, head of production planning in the Nordics at Vattenfall.
