A 12-year-old boy was hit by a car near a college in Thonon-les-Bains (Haute-Savoie), Wednesday at midday.

According to the first elements, the teenager was hit while he was on a pedestrian crossing.

The driver gives the alert

The driver would have had his visibility hampered by a bus parked at a stop.

After the shock, he stopped and gave the alert himself.

However, he left before the police arrived.

His identification was in progress on Thursday.

The teenager is suffering from a broken ankle.

He was picked up by firefighters and taken to the local hospital.
