Four people were injured on Monday evening with knives, two of them seriously, in a Lidl store in Jeumont (North) by a man equipped in particular with a chopper, who then tried to end his life, a-t -we learned from police sources.

The vital prognosis of the two seriously injured is not engaged, unlike that of the author, who attempted suicide, said a police source.

Two other people were injured more lightly, the source continued.

Two knives and a chopper

The facts took place around 7:00 p.m. when the man entered the store equipped in particular with "a chopper" before attacking customers.

About ten people were there.

According to a source close to the case, the attacker was equipped with two knives and a chopper.

"There is currently no evidence to make any assumption about the motivation of the attacker", who has "not been identified", said the police source.

Aged about forty, this man had no papers on him, said a second police source, according to which the author tried to end his life by injuring his throat with his knife.
