News from our newspaper (Reporter Wu Hongli) Yesterday, the "Beijing Population Development Research Report (2022)" (2022 Beijing Population Blue Book) was released.

Among them, it is pointed out that the cultural quality of the city's population ranks among the top in the country, and the proportion of the population with higher education has increased significantly.

In 2021, among the resident population aged 15 and above, the population with higher education will increase by 7 percentage points compared with the previous year.

In addition, the regional distribution of the city's population has become more balanced, and the economic development vitality of the new urban development area has been enhanced.

The blue book was jointly released by the Beijing Population and Social Development Research Center of the Party School of the Municipal Party Committee and the Social Science Literature Publishing House. It tracks the population development of Beijing from multiple perspectives such as the size, structure, quality, and distribution of the educated population, working-age population, elderly population, and women of childbearing age.

The Blue Book states that since 2017, Beijing's resident population has continued to decline slightly. In 2021, the city's resident population will be 21.886 million, a decrease of 0.57% from the previous year.

Among them, the registered population was 14.135 million, an increase of 0.91% over the previous year.

The working-age population is the population within the working-age range in the total population of the society.

According to the Blue Book, the decline in the working-age population in Beijing has expanded, and the total dependency ratio of the population has risen by 2.1 percentage points from the previous year.

The Blue Book also pointed out that the regional distribution of Beijing's population has become more balanced, and the vitality of economic development in new urban development areas has increased.

From 2015 to 2021, the population size of Beijing's capital functional core area and urban functional expansion area continued to decline, but the rate of decline slowed down, and the population size of urban development new areas and ecological conservation development areas increased, and the population growth rate of urban development new areas was even greater .

According to the analysis of the Blue Book, this has alleviated the population pressure in the capital's functional core area and urban functional expansion area to a certain extent, and further optimized the spatial distribution of Beijing's population.

Compared with 2020, in 2021, the population proportion, economic proportion and economic population coefficient of the functional core area of the capital and the urban functional expansion area will all decline, the economic population coefficient of the ecological conservation development area will basically be the same, and the urban development new area will complete the growth of the economic population coefficient. Reversed, economic vitality has improved.
