After the official switching on of the lighting, carried out with all the honors two weeks ago by the innkeeper Lucio,

there is no corner of the capital where Christmas is not breathed

.

And although there are still 15 days left until Christmas Eve and another seven more to say goodbye to the year, Madrid is already a city taken from North to South by the spirit of the festivities.

The shops and the hotel industry will throw in the rest until Kings, and

the City Council jumps on the bandwagon with all kinds of actions

to dress up streets and districts as the occasion deserves.

And so, as in previous years, the Department of Culture, Tourism and Sports directed by Andrea Levy has organized a great

videomapping

show at the Palacio de Cibele s

to congratulate the holidays

.

The façade of the building, the current headquarters of the City Council, will come back to life with a magical journey designed for both Madrid residents and visitors.

A videomapping made up of three-dimensional images that can be seen on December 17 and 18, at 8:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., from any point in Plaza de Cibeles.

The Star of Bethlehem herself will be in charge of narrating the Christmas story

in these projections, through a story that begins in the streets.

Accompanied by two angels, she will gradually illuminate the houses while she tells us about home as a refuge, reunions with loved ones and how all these riches acquire special meaning on these very important dates.

This will be, then, the storyline of this highly innovative initiative, equipped with the highest technology, and which

functions as an audiovisual Christmas story

.

To continue shaping the setting of these dates, the Star, located on top of a tree, tells us about Mary, Joseph and the birth of Jesus,

as well as the Three Wise Men and each of their gifts

.

This

videomapping

adds to the already traditional lighting of the Town Hall, with a display of

230 spaces with 27,000 light points

in which 6,700 chains have been installed, 115 light cherry trees, 13 large artificial illuminated fir trees and a natural one in Plaza de España decorated with 800 balls.

Another of the star elements of this year is the giant fir tree of Sol

.

With its 35 meters high and its cone shape, it has a structure of 14 meters in diameter and 240,000 lud led points.
