“As far as we understand, almost all the stuck tankers are carrying oil from outside Russia,” she said at a briefing.

Jean-Pierre also said that these vessels are not affected by the price ceiling for Russian oil.

According to her, Washington is in contact with Ankara on this issue. 

Earlier, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said that Washington does not believe that Russia could be involved in the situation with the accumulation of Russian oil tankers off the coast of Turkey.

On December 5, the Financial Times wrote that a queue of tankers formed in Turkish waters after the imposition of price restrictions on Russian oil.

Later, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said that Russia was concerned about the situation with the accumulation of Russian oil tankers off the coast of Turkey.
