Hear in the clip what the lack of train technicians can lead to

The idea is that the newly started organization Järnvägscollege will capture the needs of the train industry and create conditions for training providers so that they can start the right kind of training.

- We will develop training plans for various professional roles, including for train technicians and signal technicians.

We will be a hub and keep track of the needs in the train industry, says Hans Celander.

Expensive educations

He finds it worrying that Västra Götaland's only Vocational College training for train technicians is now closed in Falköping due to a lack of students and the cost to the municipality being too high.

This is because up to 1,000 new train technicians will be needed in Sweden within a five-year period.

- These are expensive educations and a challenge for education providers, even though the authority for the University of Applied Sciences is involved in financing these educations today.

However, we are also conducting a dialogue regarding financing to see if there are conditions for higher compensation levels to get the economy going.
