106 newly arrived people will be received in Värmland in 2023, the government decided at the beginning of December when the so-called county numbers were determined.

This means that the county number is more than halved compared to this year's number - which was 246.

The reduction is due, among other things, to the government's decision to reduce Sweden's reception of quota refugees, the county administrative board writes in a press release.

Värmland's share is 3.2% of the total projected reception of new arrivals in Sweden.

Fewer new arrivals to Eda

Eda municipality is one of the municipalities in Värmland that in 2023 will receive a lower reception than before.

- Eda municipality has retained an organization for reception, which has resulted in a good integration into the labor market for our participants.

Both the public and private sectors in the municipality signal recruitment needs and we have room for new arrivals in our housing stock.

We aim to continue the good integration work in Eda, says Angelica Vornanen, who is acting section manager Integration in Eda municipality, in the press release.

In addition to the people that the municipalities take in, the Migration Agency estimates that approximately 169 people will settle on their own in the county during the next year.
