Since April 8, planes are no longer allowed to land or take off from Nantes airport between midnight and 6 a.m.

A curfew decided by the State to limit the aerial noise pollution suffered by the many residents.

The subject is sensitive, in particular in Saint-Aignan-de-Grand-Lieu, one of the two municipalities (with Bouguenais) hosting the airport runway.

However, the mayor of Aignan and vice-president of Nantes Métropole has, for once, decided to laugh about it.

Jean-Claude Lemasson (PS) has thus just published a real municipal decree authorizing “to fly over the airspace of the municipality”, despite the curfew, on the night of December 24 to 25.

But not everyone can benefit from this “exceptional” authorization.

"Are included in this authorization, Mr. Santa Claus, his reindeer Tornado, Dancer, Fury, Fringant, Comet, Cupid, Thunder, Lightning and Rudolph", stipulates article 2 of the decree.

Article 3 adds: “However, we remind Father Christmas of his duty of discretion with the inhabitants and count on his professionalism to deliver the Aignan houses on time.

“For those who are a little too down to earth, the municipal decree clearly states that it “is the right to be able to laugh and have fun with respect”.
