Two men, suspected of having stolen quads, were arrested on December 1 in Nîmes (Gard), the Gard gendarmerie services reported on Wednesday evening.

Between the end of October and mid-November, in several towns in Occitanie, but also in Arles (Bouches-du-Rhône), owners who had put their quads up for sale on the Internet were robbed their gear before their eyes.

The suspects are accused of posing as real buyers and asking owners to test drive their vehicles.

However, they would have left, during the transactions, vehicles in pledge, "worthless or stolen", specify the gendarmes.

Unfortunately for the sellers, the suspects never returned.

Eight victims have been identified.

Two-wheelers were also stolen, with the same little carousel.

The gendarmes call for vigilance.

"Beware of 'buyers' who do not hesitate to use this type of trickery to steal from you", they warn.
