“At the next attempt by the armed formations of Ukraine to break through our line of defense in the Svatovsky direction, the enemy company-tactical group, reinforced with additional forces and means, entered the zone of destruction of its own artillery,” he told RIA Novosti.
This could have happened due to inconsistency with the artillery units or due to communication problems, the officer believes.
“The commander of the assault unit practically exposed the personnel to the blow of the Ukrainian troops,” Marochko said.
Part of the forces and means of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was destroyed, the rest returned to their starting line, he added.
The day before, Marochko said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are suffering losses due to attempts to make a breakthrough in the area of Svatov and Kremennaya.
