It is a cloudy weather which is announced this Thursday on France.

Some rain is expected by Météo France in the south of the country, especially in Provence.

Light frosts are expected over the northern half of the country.

On the temperature side, the cold continues to dominate, with readings that will not exceed 6 degrees in the north of France.

The weather will be cloudy Thursday across the country, with some rain in the South, more sustained in Provence, forecasts Météo France.

Fog banks will form over the northern half overnight, as well as in the southwestern valleys.

In the morning, we will find a lot of greyness in these regions.

These mists could be locally freezing over the north of the country.

Light showers will occur on the Channel coasts, while a few flakes will be possible along the Belgian border.

The sky will remain cloudy during the day and light rain will occur in places.

The clouds will invade the south of the country and will give the first rains in the morning.

They will remain weak on the South-West side but will be more frequent on the Provence side during the afternoon.

Negative temperatures in Auvergne

In the first part of the night, this rainy weather will go up to the Saône valley.

The rains can be freezing from the north of the Lyon conurbation to Puy-de-Dôme, which can make the roads slippery.

Snow will fall around 1,500 m on the Alps, or even 1,200 m during the night.

In the Pyrenees, the rain-snow limit will be around 2,000 m.

Light frosts are expected over the northern half of the country.

In Auvergne, minimum temperatures will be between -6 and -3 degrees.

In the South-West, temperatures will vary between -1 and 4 degrees in the morning, 2 to 7 degrees in southern Aquitaine and up to 8 to 11 degrees in places on the Mediterranean coast.

The maximums will not exceed 1 to 6 degrees on the northern half.

They will reach 6 to 11 degrees elsewhere, up to 10 to 17 degrees in the Southeast.
