The Alès criminal court sentenced a man to seven years in prison, two of which were suspended, for aggravated theft with three circumstances and violence with a weapon.

On November 30, he entered a tobacco shop in the Gard sub-prefecture, armed with a handgun.

With the butt, he had hit a first client and threatened a second before being given a sum of between 700 and 800 euros.

Immediately notified, the anti-crime brigade had managed to arrest him a little more than an hour after the fact, thanks in particular to the city's video surveillance cameras and the coordination between the national and municipal police.

In addition to his prison sentence and his continued detention, his sentence mentions an obligation to work, care and pay the sums due to the public treasury.

It is also forbidden to carry a weapon for ten years.
