Congolese authorities accuse the M23 of killing more than 200 civilians in Kishishe in North Kivu on Tuesday, November 29.

What the rebels deny.

A week later, Kishishe is still under M23 control and calls for an independent investigation are increasing.

Civil society actors want the light to be shed and say they also fear for the safety of the populations remaining in Kishishe and those in the surrounding area.

Civil society actors are concerned about the fate of the civilian population and wonder: “

What measures have been taken to secure the local populations?

What steps have been taken to minimize the possibility of further attacks?

 »

And a question that often comes up is "

 why hasn't Monusco deployed

to Kishishe

yet a week after the events

?"

Contacted by RFI, the UN mission did not give details of its commitment in the field.

However, it claims that it has deployed blue helmets in Nyanzale and Rwindi, near Kishishe.

UN Field Investigation

Monusco also provides support to a team of investigators from the United Nations joint human rights office, a component on which UN officials insist.

This team has been deployed about twenty kilometers from Kishishe since Saturday.

She questions survivors and other witnesses and will complete her field mission this Thursday, December 7 in the evening.

NGO investigations are also ongoing.

But all are faced with the same difficulties, the most important of which is the impossibility for the moment of accessing Kishishe.
