A man was arrested after the alleged sexual assault of a young girl at his home in Le Havre (Seine-Maritime), reports 76 Actu on Tuesday.
The facts occurred on the night of November 15 to 16.
The suspect is said to have entered the home of a family whose door was not locked.
He allegedly attacked the 8-year-old girl in her bedroom.
The parents and their two other children were then asleep.
It was the mother, alerted by the cries of her daughter, who scared the intruder away.
This one would then have been confused by the men of the urban security thanks to the video protection images.
Border Police Assistant
According to our colleagues, the man would be an assistant police officer with the border police (PAF).
He would be under 30 years old.
Placed in police custody, he was then presented to an investigating judge last Saturday.
The suspect was remanded in custody.
