A train collided with another at the Montcada i Reixac station this Wednesday morning, leaving a hundred injured.

The accident occurred when one of the vehicles rear-ended another that was stopped and full of passengers, causing many to fall to the ground.

Many suffered bruises when they fell, so the health services have treated the passengers at the station itself and assessed whether any should be transferred to a health center.

After the accident, Renfe activated the emergency protocol, as well as the Civil Protection of the Generalitat, the special plan for this type of accident.

The Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) has moved several ambulances.

The affected trains covered the

Renfe commuter line R4,

whose circulation is currently paralyzed, as well as lines R7 and R12, in both directions.

The crash took place around 7:50 a.m. on Wednesday when the two trains met at the station.
