Twenty-five suspected members and supporters of the far-right terrorist group 'Citizens of the Reich' (Reichsbürger) were detained early Wednesday morning during several raids in
Germany
, the federal prosecutor's office said.
Raids were carried out in
11 German federal states
, the office added in a statement.
The arrested suspects are part of a terrorist group whose goal is to overthrow the existing state order in Germany and replace it with their own, and they do not exclude violence against the state as a means to achieve their goal, according to the prosecutor.
The suspects were arrested in the German states of
Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Berlin, Hesse, Lower Saxony, Saxony, Thuringia
, as well as
Austria
and
Italy
, the office said.
