President Yoon Seok-yeol will have a luncheon with the soccer team that succeeded in advancing to the round of 16 of the '2022 Qatar World Cup' the day after tomorrow (8th) at the earliest.
Kim Eun-hye, chief of public relations at the President's Office, said at a briefing at the Yongsan Presidential Office, "I think we will be able to have a time of encouragement when the national team, who has done their best with the national flag in their hearts, returns home."
The venue for the luncheon is known to be reviewed by the Yongsan Presidential Office.
It is known that most of the players, including coach Paulo Bento and captain Son Heung-min, will attend the luncheon.
Earlier, on the 3rd, President Yoon had a phone call with coach Bento and player Sohn to encourage him to advance to the round of 16.
Regarding the Korea-Brazil match that was played early today, Chief Kim said, "Many people must have stayed up all night, but the World Cup round of 16 was a game in which the people played together."
