“I want this call sign and, in principle, the image of this red backpack, this commander of the Marine Corps, to be preserved precisely in this perspective, as denoting all the commanders of the Marine Corps, in principle, any commander,” the man said in an interview with RT.

As Struna emphasized, any commander leads people forward by his personal example.

“Just so that this image remains exactly as the commander of the Marine Corps, not one person, not personally me,” he explained.

In October, President Vladimir Putin awarded Struna the title of Hero of Russia.

RT war correspondent Andrey Filatov has repeatedly spoken about the exploits of the 24-year-old commander of the Russian marines.

In the summer, Struna was wounded in battle and lost his leg.
