"Pension" launches a campaign to raise awareness of the rights of workers in the private sector according to the "Nafes" program

The General Pension and Social Security Authority confirmed that the "Nafes" program is a pioneering step by the UAE government towards enhancing the competitiveness of national cadres to work in various private sector institutions and companies.

She pointed out that the most important characteristic of the "Nafes" program is that it is comprehensive and integrated in terms of focusing on offering support programs with multiple aspects and goals.



The authority added that the budget allocated by the UAE government to launch a package of projects within the "Nafes" program, the most important of which is obtaining additional support on the salary confirms its commitments and keenness to provide a decent life for all without exception, in order to consolidate the values ​​of justice and equality among citizens working in the government or private sectors, which are It is keen to enhance the competitiveness of citizens in the private sector, whether by supporting private projects or providing job opportunities for citizens, especially since the state pumps a lot of capital into this sector as a major partner in advancing the national economy of the state, which confirms the importance of directing citizens to work in it and achieve maximum benefit for them.



The authority said that as part of its efforts to promote this pioneering step, it will seek through the awareness campaign that it is implementing during the current December 2022 to educate the insured working in the private sector of their rights and insurance obligations within this framework, especially since the authority has received, through call centers, many inquiries about registration with the authority. By new workers in the private sector after registering in "Nafes", which confirms the positive consequences of the project and the keenness of citizens to know their rights and obligations within this initiative.

She stated that the Authority's campaign will focus on the responsibility and obligations of private employers, and therefore it would be useful for the Authority to provide all information related to registration and subscription for the insured and the conditions for employers to be subject to the provisions of the law, to avoid any violations that may arise as a result of not knowing the provisions of the law in this regard.



The Authority said that the first thing that should be mentioned in this context is that all citizens working in the private sector in the various emirates of the country, with the exception of those working in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, are covered by the provisions of Federal Law No. 7 of 1999 for Pensions and Social Security and its amendments, and that employers in the private sector should whose main headquarters are located within this geographical distribution, registering on behalf of citizens working for it within 30 days of their joining the service with them, and not registering on their behalf falls within the framework of insurance evasion that is punishable by the Pensions Law through fines and penalties contained in the articles of the law, which will be referred to successively during this campaign .



She explained that the delay or failure of the employers to register on behalf of the citizen does not exempt them in the future from registering on his behalf retroactively, and the payment of fines for each day of delay, without prior warning or warning, and the responsibility for registration is within the competence of the employer, although this does not exempt the citizen from responsibility Ensure that he is registered and pays the prescribed contributions on a monthly basis, and that he makes sure that these contributions are paid on the real wage, because any breach or manipulation in paying contributions other than the real wages will harm his interest later in terms of the decrease in the value of his insurance benefits upon retirement, as shown by the employers. for criminal offenses.



The Authority added that the rates of contributions due from citizens in the private sector are 5% in addition to 15% borne by the employer in the private sector, but the UAE government bears 2.5% for the employer in the private sector in support of citizens working in this sector, according to data Authority, this support reached 87 million dirhams during the year 2021.
