In the House of Representatives election last year, a university professor issued an accusation letter against Minister Akiba and others on the suspicion that the payment of remuneration to his public secretary by Minister Akiba was illegal under the Public Offices Election Law. I sent it to the public prosecutor's office.

In last year's House of Representatives election, Reconstruction Minister Akiba paid 200,000 yen to two of his public secretaries to campaign for elections, which was suspected of violating the Public Offices Election Law. ”, Regarding this, Minister Akiba explained that the two were legally recognized “on-board campaigners” and that there was no illegality in the payment of remuneration.

Regarding this, a university professor suspected that the two public secretaries were not active as campaign members, and even if they were active, if they were engaged in election campaigns other than that, payment of remuneration to them would not be possible in the public office election. Alleging that there was a suspicion of bribery of campaign members, which was prohibited by law, I mailed an accusation letter from Minister Akiba and others to the Sendai District Public Prosecutors Office.

Professor Hiroyuki Kamiwaki of Kobe Gakuin University, who sent the complaint, said, "The acquisition is an act that harms the fairness of the election, and I want a thorough investigation."

Regarding the fact that the accusation letter was mailed, Minister Akiba's office said, "We are in the process of confirming the facts, including the facts, and we cannot comment on anything at this time."
