While electrification is advancing at full speed in Europe, it is also spreading to the United States.

But in the country of V8 and unleaded, the references are obviously different.

So this Ford F-150 has been the best-selling vehicle for four decades!

It was therefore logical for Ford to electrify it quickly, especially since behind, the competitors point the end of the hood, whether they are called Chevrolet Silverado EV, RAM Revolution, GMC Hummer or of course Tesla Cybertruck.

To electrify a 6-meter-long machine, Ford has gone all out: it is offered in two “comfortable” power levels, 452 and 580 hp, and two battery capacities, 98 or 131 kWh, authorizing up to 512 km autonomy.



In any case, we are pleasantly surprised by the smoothness on the road.

The thrust is powerful and continuous, but never violent.

And the comfort, unmatched by European pick-ups, impresses, especially since the support is also very good considering the 3 tons of the machine!

This is what would make it uncompetitive in Europe, since the payload would be derisory to respect the maximum 3,500 kg authorized with a B license. It's a shame, because apart from a turning radius that is not very compatible with our European roads, this F -150 seduces with its undeniable luxury, its space on board and its well-thought-out little “tricks”: a rear dropside that can turn into a workbench, sockets to power electric tools in the bed, but also… under the front bonnet,

where the absence of a large petrol engine freed up a space - washable with water - of 400 litres.

That's more than the trunk of a compact sedan!



It is therefore understandable that the order books are full, especially since in the land of Uncle Sam, this F-150 lightning starts at less than… $50,000!
