Start the video to watch the Ritter couple talk about their house purchase.

The house that the Ritter couple bought is under new construction with occupancy in October 2023. When they signed the purchase contract, they expected to be able to sell their current villa for the price it was valued at before the war – or maybe more.

But so far they have not received a single bid.

- It is clear that if the house were to lose a million compared to what we have calculated, it will be difficult to pay off the loans and get new loans, says Fredrik Ritter.

- Then we can't get the new house, says Rebecca Ritter.

Decreased by 17.7 percent

Housing prices have continued to fall in Gothenburg for both villas and condominiums.

Villa prices in Greater Gothenburg fell in November by 17.7 percent compared to the top listing last spring.

This shows figures from the SBAB Booli Housing Price Index for November.

The corresponding figure for apartments was a decrease of 14.5 percent.

For the Ritter family, the price reduction means that the future is currently uncertain.

- At some point the crisis would come, they have thought that for several years.

That it would come right now, that was typical, says Fredrik Ritter.
