At dawn this Sunday, Maritime Rescue personnel transferred

46 people of North African origin

to the port of Motril (Granada) who were sailing in a boat that was intercepted by the Civil Guard maritime service off the coast of Granada.

The migrants,

all men

and among whom there could be four minors

, were initially located by the

ferry

that connects Malaga with Melilla and later intercepted by the Civil Guard patrol boat Río Genil just over 64 kilometers (35 nautical miles) from the Granada coast.

Subsequently, it has been the Salvamar Gienah that has transferred them to the port of Motril,

where they arrived after midnight

.

According to EFE sources from the Red Cross, as soon as they arrived at the Granada dock, the migrants were treated by the humanitarian organization and

all were in good physical condition

, except for one of them who had leg problems.

After this assistance, throughout the night they

will be subjected to diagnostic tests for Covid

and later made available to the National Police in the temporary reception center available in the port of Motril, where they will remain for the next 72 hours.
