In June, Martin Modéus was elected as the new archbishop.

He will be the 71st Archbishop of Uppsala and has previously been Bishop of Linköping.

SVT met him in connection with him laying down the staff there.

- I have enjoyed myself extremely well here in the diocese, so it feels sad that the people and the context, Martin Modéus said then.

Now he has picked up a new staff.

At eleven o'clock on Sunday, a high mass began where the new archbishop was received and began his office as archbishop.

He takes over from Antje Jackelén, who retired after eight years as archbishop.
