Former President Moon Jae-in expressed his position on the arrest of former National Security Office Director Suh Hoon through social media.

Former President Moon evaluated Seo as "the best North Korea expert, strategist, and negotiator who participated in all North Korea negotiations under the Kim Dae-jung, Roh Moo-hyun, and Moon Jae-in administrations."

He continued, "It is difficult to find again an asset of trust with long experience and experience like Seo Hoon, both between South and North Korea and between Korea and the United States."

He dismissed it as an overreaction to avoid responsibility, saying that the power of the people could not understand why former President Moon came up with this position.

[Park Jeong-ha/Chief Spokesperson for People's Power: Former President Moon Jae-in's overreaction is interpreted as wanting to somehow avoid responsibility for himself by supporting former chief Seo Hoon.

] "Former President Moon should apologize in front of the people and reflect on history," he said.

The Democratic Party provided cover for former President Moon, saying that former chief Seo was arrested due to a retaliatory investigation by the prosecution.

[Kim Eui-gyeom/Democratic Party Spokesperson: (Former President Moon Jae-in) expressed his position not only because of his worries about one individual.

This is because the dark clouds hanging over the Korean Peninsula are ominous.]

Since the possibility that the prosecution will expand the investigation to former President Moon cannot be ruled out, the conflict between the old and new governments is expected to fluctuate depending on the prosecution's investigation in the future.
