Yemen.. Disputes and intransigence of the Houthis stopped the consultations of Muscat and Oman

Yemeni political sources revealed differences between the consulting Yemeni parties in the Omani capital, Muscat, over the distribution of economic resources during the next phase, which led to the suspension of the UN-sponsored consultations with the support of the Sultanate of Oman.

The sources stated that the differences led to the suspension of all other consultations, including those taking place in the Jordanian capital, Amman, regarding a complete cessation of war, ending military manifestations, and opening roads, noting that the differences were about the distribution of state resources and the disbursement of salaries.

And she stated that the consultations had gone a long way in order to achieve a return to the armistice, and the transition to negotiations for a political and military solution, stressing that the reason for stopping was the position of the militias on those consultations and the attempt to impose their point of view by force.

And the Yemeni Foreign Minister, Ahmed bin Mubarak, confirmed the availability of all the ingredients for establishing peace in Yemen, but the militias completely reject them, indicating in a panel discussion within the activities of the Mediterranean Dialogues Forum, that the militias' obstacles thwarted all efforts seeking to achieve peace in Yemen.

The differences in the consultations between the Yemeni parties coincided with the militias' escalation of their combat operations on the battle fronts, as they launched large-scale attacks on the positions of the Yemeni army and the resistance, on the fronts south of Ma'rib, which have been witnessing fierce battles between the two sides for two days.

Field sources stated that, since Thursday evening, continuous battles have been taking place on the fronts of the Ramli axis, largely concentrated in the "Al-Akd" front on the outskirts of the eastern Balaq Mountain, confirming the deaths and injuries among the militias, including a field commander, in addition to the destruction of their combat vehicles. 8 soldiers and resistance fighters were killed and others were wounded.

The sources indicated that the battles in the south of Ma'rib were full-fledged, and various types of weapons were used in them, and that an attempt by the Houthis to infiltrate the positions of the forces and the resistance in several areas of the sandy desert in the vicinity of the eastern Balkans was thwarted.

On the western coast, the death toll from the Houthi attacks on civilian areas west of the Hays district, which they launched on Friday, rose to 7 dead, and others injured, including five children, according to the local authority, noting that the militia committed a new crime against civilians in Hodeidah.

Yesterday, the militias bombed contact areas in the Hays district with various types of weapons as part of their combat escalation on the frontlines, which led to shells falling in the village of Al-Roun, west of the district, and caused deaths and injuries while performing prayers in the village mosque, including five children.

In Hadramout, the death toll from a hand grenade explosion in a mosque in the Baath district, during Friday prayers yesterday, rose to 5 dead and 20 others wounded, according to medical statistics in the district.

A local source in the directorate stated that a gunman threw a hand grenade at the worshipers in the mosque, which led to the death of this large number of civilians, stressing that the perpetrator was arrested and handed over to the competent authorities, in preparation for his trial.
