Last straight line for the three candidates.

This weekend takes place the elections of the new president of the Republicans, a pivotal moment for this party which wants to rebuild itself to better weigh on the political spectrum.

Activists and members will have to go to an online platform to vote and designate their future leader.

After several months of campaigning, it's D-Day: the 91,000 LR members must choose.

They vote this weekend to elect their president.

It will be Éric Ciotti, Bruno Retailleau or Aurélien Pradié.

The ballot opens Saturday at 6 p.m. electronically, according to the same rules that had framed the election of the Republican primary for the presidential election last year.

24 hours to vote

It is the company Neovote which was chosen by the party for the organization of the ballot.

Voters must therefore connect to a site using an identifier they received by post, then with a secret code sent by email or telephone.

A code which, once entered, allows them to vote.

Many precautions taken to, of course, avoid fraud.

The Republicans also recall that the algorithm signals membership cards that refer to the same address or the same bank card so that the party can ensure the real identity of the voters.

For voters who do not master computers, a hundred hotlines will be open on the territory.

The vote will be closed on Sunday at 6 p.m. and a bailiff will unseal the electronic ballot box.

Party President Annie Genevard will then announce the result by telephone to the three candidates.

In the absence of a majority, a second round will be organized next weekend.
