The British website "The Athletic", one of the most famous international sports news websites, monitored the state of popular rejection of the Israeli media in the streets of Qatar, in contrast to the clear presence of Palestine in the flags, chants and badges.

The site shared clips in which the fans refused to speak with Israeli television reporters, and at the beginning, a clip of a Japanese girl who refused to complete the dialogue as soon as she learned that the journalist was Israeli.

The newspaper also interviewed a number of journalists present, including Raz Chechenk, a journalist who became famous for claiming to be from Ecuador before fans discovered his lie.

Experiences and regrets

"I admit that I made a mistake when I decided to represent myself as a journalist from Ecuador, but that was only in order to talk to people. I only wanted a statement from them about the match, but the place I came from did not suit them," Chichenk said.

The report shared the experiences of some journalists who had to hide and speak in the Arabic language they mastered in order to avoid the expected popular anger from those present.

One of the journalists, who refused to be named, said that he cannot face what he is exposed to, and he does not have to fight against this rejection as some inside Israel ask him, stressing that his experience in Qatar has weakened his hopes for improving Arab-Israeli relations.

He added in his statements, "I used to think that people in the streets wanted peace and quiet, but since I arrived in Qatar, my opinion has changed, and now I have realized the truth. They told us that we are not human beings. I feel sad. This ended any hope for me of improving relations."

Flags and case

The report also monitored the heavy presence of Palestinian flags in the stadiums, noting that wearing the Palestinian flag was not limited to Palestinians only, but included all Arabs.

It is noteworthy that with the state of Israeli confusion in front of the Arab public rallying around the Palestinian issue in the World Cup in Qatar, the Israeli journalist Michal Aharoni headlined her article in the newspaper "Israel Hayom", with the phrase "The Palestinians are all in Qatar, the reality is embarrassing."

In it, she talked about a state of Palestinian supremacy during the World Cup.

In a message sent to the Israeli community, Aharoni wrote, "Here we are discovering that there is a vibrant Palestinian people, and to realize that, the Israeli media had to fly to Qatar to remember this fact."
