The firefighters came to the aid of a horse in difficulty, this Thursday morning in Sermaize-les-Bains (Marne).

The blind animal had fallen into the Saulx stream, reports

L'Ardennais

.

While in a hole about 1.50 m deep, the equine was unable to reach the bank.

Men from Sermaize-les-Bains and Vitry-le-François went there to try to get the horse back.

Supported by specialists in “surface water rescue”, they managed to extract the beast from this bad situation and bring it back to dry land.

Rescues like this are not uncommon for firefighters.

Last week, they were mobilized to save a horse stuck in a septic tank in Lagarde, south-east of Toulouse.

They managed to recover the animal using straps but had to use a backhoe and agricultural machinery to dig and enlarge the cavity.
