The World Health Organization, WHO, warned on Thursday of an early start to the flu season in Europe.

At the same time, there is increased concern about the RS virus and a continued threat from the covid virus.

Even here in Sweden, respiratory infections are increasing now, according to the Public Health Agency.

- You can say that all three diseases are increasing now.

As for the RS virus, we have passed what we call the start of an epidemic, there are so many cases that we now call it an epidemic.

For the flu, we're not quite there yet, but it's definitely on the rise.

Covid too, but we don't have that classification there, says Sara Byfors, head of department at the Public Health Agency.

In general, it is therefore a good season for respiratory viruses to spread now.

When it comes to influenza and covid-19, there are vaccine recommendations, but these do not apply to everyone.

So anyone planning a Christmas celebration with elderly loved ones may need to think twice.

In the clip, Sara Byfors answers three questions about how you can think about top-up doses and the risk of infection before Christmas celebrations.
