Ukraine calls on Germany to provide it with Patriot batteries

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba called on the German government to provide his country with the Patriot air defense missile batteries promised by Poland.

On the sidelines of a meeting with his counterparts from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Kuleba said in the Romanian capital Bucharest today, Wednesday: "If Germany is ready to supply Patriot batteries to Poland, and if Poland does not mind delivering these batteries to Ukraine, then I see that the solution for The German government is clear.

Kuleba called the Patriot batteries "a purely defensive weapon" and said Ukraine was ready to use them in the safest and most efficient way.

The Ukrainian foreign minister added that he would work with the German government on this issue, noting that Ukraine needs this system in order to protect civil society and critical infrastructure.
