This morning is, without a doubt, one of the most complicated appearances in Congress for Fernando Grande-Marlaska.

The Minister of the Interior has tried to deactivate the alternative version of the tragedy of the Melilla fence at a delicate moment with his parliamentary partners turning their backs on him, the PP demanding his resignation and a new journalistic investigation that speaks of a migrant dead in the Spanish zone.

Grande-Marlaska has strongly rejected this extreme and has once again shown all its support for the Civil Guard agents.

"We did not have to regret any tragic event in Spanish territory," she has settled.

"[They were] events that occurred mainly in Moroccan territory. We did not have to regret any tragic event in Spanish territory. We are talking about tragic events that take place outside our country," he added.

According to the minister, "the Civil Guard acted in compliance with international human rights regulations. The law was fully complied with."

"There are no other events, no matter how annoying. They took place mainly outside Spanish territory. The Civil Guard had no responsibility for these events, insisted the minister, who has assumed responsibility for the events: "I assume full responsibility because I give the order to protect our borders from any violent attack".
