The Democratic Party has proposed a proposal to dismiss Minister of Public Administration and Security Lee Sang-min, claiming responsibility for the Itaewon disaster.

If President Seok-yeol Yoon exercised his veto power, he also pressured to go to the impeachment resolution, but the power of the people and the presidential office made it clear that they would reject the proposal, saying, "There is no reason to investigate state affairs."

<Reporter> The

leadership of the Democratic Party, which had been pondering over whether to propose dismissal or impeachment for one day after the general assembly, eventually pulled out a card to propose a proposal for dismissal of Minister of Public Administration and Security Lee Sang-min.

As President Yoon Seok-yeol's exercise of the veto right is certain, the dismissal has no real benefit within the party. There was also an opinion to immediately propose an impeachment bill rather than a proposal, but Park Hong-geun, who had the right to decide, chose to add political pressure, saying, "In terms of canceling the decision, we are giving President Yoon Seok-yeol and Minister Lee a last chance."

The Democratic Party plans to report the proposed dismissal of Minister Lee to the plenary session tomorrow (the 1st), and then handle it the day after tomorrow.

At the time the Democratic Party submitted a proposal for dismissal to the National Assembly, the power of the people held a press conference and rejected the meaning of the government investigation.

[Ho-Young Joo/President of the People's Power: If you demand that the government be dismissed

in advance before the government investigation even begins, there will be no reason to conduct a government investigation.]

A member of the leadership in the house said, "As we are in a situation where we have to pass the budget bill, let's see if we actually pass the dismissal proposal."

The President's office virtually dismissed the Democratic Party's proposal for dismissal, saying, "I would like to ask again if there is any intention to investigate the state affairs if the minister specified as the subject of investigation is dismissed."
