The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia stated this at a meeting with participants in the scientific and educational program "Dialogue for the Sake of the Future".

Lavrov recalled that Russia's position on the issue of the use of nuclear weapons remains unchanged - there are no winners in a nuclear war, and it should not be unleashed.

“Russia's position goes further: in addition to the inadmissibility of such a war, it is necessary to avoid any military clash between nuclear powers, even with the use of conventional weapons,” the diplomat said.

According to Lavrov, the escalation in this matter may become uncontrollable.

On October 27, Russian leader Vladimir Putin said that Russia does not need a nuclear strike on Ukraine, it makes no political or military sense.

Moscow has repeatedly reminded that the inadmissibility of nuclear war is Russia's principled position.
