The airline has just unveiled a new guide to good conduct for cabin crew (PNC).

Objective for the Indian company: “to improve service and reputation”.

Thus, gray hair is not allowed and should be colored in a natural shade.

Fashionable colors and henna are also prohibited, as are blonde hair and high buns for air hostesses.

No beards for men

Men are not spared.

Those who have a beginning of baldness are thus invited to shave their heads every day.

They are also prohibited from wearing beards and must therefore be able to shave on each flight.

A chapter is dedicated to accessories.

Alliance and Sikh bracelet are authorized, with a maximum width of 5 mm and without design, logo or stone for men.

Women can only wear gold or diamond accessories and without a pattern.

They should also match their lipstick with their nail polish and only wear “nude” colors if their nails are short.



Unappreciated guidelines

These new directives do not seem to be unanimous with the main concerned, according to an Air India official.

Especially since employees should also respect these rules during their holidays, when they travel on board the company as simple passengers.

They are asked to wear elegant and decent clothes, otherwise they will have to change before getting their boarding pass, said the official, who wished to remain anonymous.

Exit therefore “ripped jeans, (…), cropped tops, sweatpants, short skirts, slippers…”.
