On November 18, late in the evening, two people returning from a party in Rieux-Volvestre, south of Toulouse, parked in front of the driver's home.

When they opened the doors of the car, a Malinois shepherd who did not belong to them entered the passenger compartment.

Furax, the driver, determined to dislodge the stray animal, went to get his own hunting dog.

What he managed to do.

But the malinois did not flee so far, remaining in the corner.

Which was not to the liking of the passenger, who went home, not far from there, to get his shotgun.

Returning, he aimed at the animal and shot it twice, killing it instantly.

Shots in the middle of the night which did not go unnoticed in the village.

The neighbors alerted the gendarmes who identified the author of the fatal shots.

He was referred to the prosecution on Wednesday and placed under judicial supervision pending his trial before the criminal court on February 8.

His weapons have been confiscated and in the meantime he is prohibited from participating in a hunting party.

“Serious abuse of domestic animals resulting in death is punishable by up to 5 years in prison,” recalls Samuel Vuelta-Simon, the public prosecutor of Toulouse in a press release.
