The two men kept quarreling, with the victim blaming the defendant for the noise from his toilet while the latter denied the water leak.

On the day of the events, they had threatened each other with hatchets.

The 50-year-old then grabbed his shotgun to shoot his neighbor, who is now having difficulty walking.

Rifles and carbines

Placed in police custody, he had denied the facts before evoking an accident.

Eight weapons he was not allowed to possess, including rifles and shotguns, were found in his home.

At the hearing, the man again pleaded the accidental shooting and claimed to have acted “under the influence of anger”.

Finally, the court of appeal granted his request and released him under judicial supervision.
